Many of us struggle with finding face makeup that works with our skin's natural chemistry. I know that for me, finding a foundation and powder that didn't cake or dry my face out was difficult and I was constantly having to change products. I also have gigantic pores and could never find a product that didn't clog them AND made them look smaller.
I work as an EMT, so my work hours are spent outside in all sorts of weather and I'm obviously working up a sweat throughout the day. Having to re-apply powder to reduce the shine a few times a day was time consuming and made me breakout a lot. UNTIL I found this miracle product that I now swear by; L'oreal's Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. This stuff is fantastic. The texture is completely unique from anything I've ever tried. It's a cream, but incredibly solid yet soft and makes my skin look and feel flawless. It's also unscented which I love.
Application:
After washing my face, I usually apply a SMALL amount of light moisturizer to my 'problem areas' that tend to dry out. After letting that soak in, I apply the Magic Perfecting Base (again, in small amounts) to my chin, 't-zone,' eyelids and under my eyes (it brightens under-eye area!) It instantly smooths, makes my pores appear smaller and, yes...Keeps my face shine-free... ALL DAY. The Magic Perfecting Base is just that: a base, so makeup can be applied normally on top of it. I've found that personally, the base eliminates my need for any foundation and I can usually just use a bit of pressed powder for a “finished” look, but it definitely works well under powder and mineral foundations. It's a little on the pricey side for a drugstore product- my 0.5 oz jar ran me about $14.00, but it's lasted me a couple of months so far and I absolutely recommend it.
