Hello gorgeous! Today is a snowy day here in New Hampshire, it's wet and cold. I thought I would do some nail art today! So I came up with this totally beautiful frostbitten nail. It's a white and blue gradient. Totally easy and super gorge.
Items Needed:
cosmetic wedges
a white polish
at least 2 blue polishes one dark and one light
Top Coat
Optional Items:
A Glittery Top Coat
A Base Coat
Colors I Used:
Basecoat: Essie Grow Stronger
White: Orly Au Champagne (it's a sued matte white polish)
Blue 1: Petites Baby Blue (a creme light blue)
Blue 2: Wet n' Wild Bijou Blue (a shimmer medium blue)
Blue 3: Jesse's Girl Girl's Night Out (a creme blue)
Shimmer: Essie luxeffects Pure Pearlfection
Gold Glitter: Essie luxeffects As Gold As It Gets
Top Coat: Out The Door
Okay so if you have basic counting skills you can see that this is a LOT of nail polish and it has many layers so it takes patience to make sure these layers dry in between. In case you don't have those basic skills here is a picture
How To:
Step 1: Begin by applying your base coat (again this is optional but I strongly suggest it)
Step 2: Apply a thin layer of white polish to the entire nail
Step 3: Apply a layer of light blue polish to the tip of the wedge (as the sponge absorbs some color apply a few layers)
Step 4: Bounce the color from the sponge onto the nail leaving some white showing near the cuticle
Step 5: Using the same sponge apply the light blue again and redo this bouncing on each nail (I do one layer at a time on all nails to allow the layers to dry in between blues)
Step 6: Apply the second blue (this is optional it could be your last blue) to the side of the wedge
Step 7: Bounce this blue along the top half of the lighter blue (be sure you don't cover the light blue completely)
Step 8: Repeat Step 5 with the medium blue (If you don't have another blue to add jump ahead to step 12)
Step 9: Apply the final blue to the other side of the wedge
Step 10: Bounce this color at the tips of your nails
Step 11: Repeat step 5 on all the nails
Step 12: (optional) apply glittery top coat
Step 13: apply top coat to seal the layers
Step 14: Clean up edges with q-tip dipped in nail polish remover
Practice patience and allow to dry!
The super gorgeous end result!
Okay... so I know this might seem overwhelming, but seriously once you get the hang of it it's totally not and it's super gorgeous!

Very pretty! Much prettier than real frostbitten fingertips!
